Minbar
Every Friday, thousands of people in Swedish mosques listen to a sermon they don't understand. Minbar solves that - in real time.
About the project
Minbar translates the Friday sermon live into 14 languages while the imam speaks. The congregation scans a QR code and reads the translation on their own phones - no app, no account, no installation. All the mosque needs is a laptop, Wi-Fi and a volunteer.
Technically, this is one of our most advanced builds: Cloudflare Workers with Durable Objects power the live sessions, and every khutbah is archived in R2 with an AI-generated summary, searchable themes and verified Qur'an references. The platform also includes Khutbah Studio - a free tool that helps imams prepare sermons with source references.
